The Sonoma County Democratic Party (SCDP) announces early endorsements for candidates running in the November 2018 Midterm Elections. We are pleased to support candidates running for the Mayor of Petaluma, Windsor Town Council, and the Santa Rosa Junior College Board of Trustees.
Teresa Barrett easily received the endorsement of the SCDP for Mayor of Petaluma. Her service on the City Council is a clear reflection of her Democratic values.
“I am so proud to receive the endorsement of the Sonoma County Democratic Party. In a non-partisan race, it is important to let the voters know whose values we share, so that voters can be clear about where we stand locally on the issues that affect us globally. Together we will make a difference!” – Teresa Barrett, Petaluma City Councilmember and candidate for Mayor
Three Democrats were endorsed for SRJC Board Trustee: incumbent and current Board President Maggie Fishman for Area 2 (South County), incumbent Trustee Dorothy Battenfeld for Areas 3, 4, 5 (Santa Rosa), and John Kelly, current Sonoma Valley Unified School District Trustee, for SRJC Area 1 (East County).
One Democrat received our early endorsement for Windsor Town Council: Esther Lemus, current Board President of the Windsor School District.
“Early endorsement is important to our Democratic candidates to list our support in the materials, and our ability to promote candidates at our summer events.” – Laurie Gallian, Chair, SCDP
