Cites depth of experience and shared values

The Sonoma County Democratic Party joined a growing list of progressive organizations in giving their enthusiastic endorsement to Rue Furch in her bid for the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in the 5th District.

The depth of Furch’ experience while serving on the Sonoma County Planning Commission, coupled with her clear commitment to progressive Democratic values, were cited by members of the Sonoma County Democratic Party as reasons for their endorsement.

“Rue’s sixteen years on the Planning Commission have demonstrated her ability to build a consensus while holding strong on the values that the Democratic Party holds dear,” says Stephen Gale, chair of the Sonoma County Democratic Party. “We need a trusted steward to protect everything from the Russian River to our essential social services – and Rue fits the bill perfectly.”

The Sonoma County Democratic Party noted that Furch’s obvious passion for grassroots involvement in government mirrors an important theme in the presidential race. The Party attested to her robust participation in community meetings on important issues, which has continued even into the busy campaign season.
