The Sonoma County Democratic Party is organized into an executive committee and six standing committees. Any Sonoma County registered Democrat is welcome to volunteer on a standing committee. Please contact us for more information about the standing committees.

Candidate Search and Development Committee:
Continuously searches for, identifies and advises Democrats who wish to run and are qualified as candidates for public office and local boards and commissions. This function is not to be construed as endorsement. All endorsement procedures conform to the State Democratic Central Committee bylaws. This committee may recommend endorsements for nonpartisan local offices. Members of this committee may not seek office or work on the campaign of any candidate seeking endorsement of the Sonoma County Democratic Party.

Communications Committee:
Maintains a monthly calendar of Sonoma County Democratic Party functions; produces and disseminates press releases; develops and maintains a media list; develops printed public relations materials in consultation with the Executive Committee; maintains the SCDP Website.

Finance Committee:
Is responsible for the planning and oversight of the annual budget and makes recommendations for the management of SCDP assets. The Finance Committee reviews all bank statements, canceled checks and checkbooks as presented by the Treasurer at every meeting of the Finance Committee.

Fundraising Committee:
Plans, coordinates and implements fundraising events and activities. This committee coordinates with the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Political Organization Committee and Communications Committee in planning and executing specific events, providing projections of attendance, site costs, and income and expense projections for each proposed event.

Outreach, Advocacy and Legislation Committee:
Keeps the membership informed on significant issues relating to current events or pending legislation; forwards to elected officials (i.e. those representing any part of the area served by the SCDP) the expressed positions of the SCDP; and arranges for interaction with the public office holders.

Political Organizing Committee:
Plans and organizes grassroots political activities to include, but not be limited to, voter registration, Get-Out-The-Vote, precinct organization, voter education, management of the database and operation of headquarters.

Office Committee:
Manages all SCDP offices, including, but not limited to, communicating with property owners, staffing and cleaning, maintaining schedules for the use of facilities, providing volunteer coordination during each election cycle, and operating election-year headquarters.
