The Sonoma County Democratic Party is pleased to report a "clean sweep" in the June 8 Primary election. Every endorsed candidate for non-partisan office either was elected outright or received the highest votes in their primary race. We did not endorse for DA or in the 4th Supervisorial District, where two strong Democrats were going head-to-head.
In addition, on local measures, the Sonoma County Democratic Party was the only organized opposition to Measure D, which did not even have an opposing statement filed for the county voter's pamphlet. The local party relied on old-fashioned "grassroots" organizing to defeat the measure and it went down by a margin of 47% to 53%.

Congratulations to our endorsed candidates:

Noreen Evans
– State Senate District 2
Wes Chesbro
– Assembly District 1
Jared Huffman
– Assembly District 6
Michael Allen
– Assembly District 7
Pam Torliatt
– County Supervisor 2nd District (received greatest number of votes)
Nancy Case Shaffer
– Superior Court Judge Office #1 (unopposed)
Pat Broderick – Superior Court Judge Office #2
Jamie Thisthelthwaite – Superior Court Judge Office #3
Steven Herrington
– County Superintendent of Schools (unopposed)
Janice Atkinson
– County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor (unopposed)
Measure D
– No

The SCDP did not endorse in the following races as there were two good Democratic candidates running in each race, but we would like to congratulate the winners:
Mike McGuire
– County Supervisor 4th District
Jill Ravitch – Sonoma County District Attorney
