Learn how to Text, Use Slack, and Zoom from the comfort of your Home. Many of the campaigns use Slack for communication rather than email. When texting from home, Slack is how you request texts, and ask for help if you are stuck.
If you’ve never texted, this training is a must. Even if you have texted at the SCDP Headquarters or someone’s home, you may want to take the training to learn how to get started, and then get help from your couch.
As a final bonus, there is a short training on Zoom, which isn’t just for texting. Last week, your trainer, Linda Hemenway, held a meeting with her family and was able to sing with her granddaughter.
We will spend the first 60 minutes of the training learning the following:
The second hour we will just text. If you have experienced texting from home, feel free to join us from 11 am to 12 noon.
It’s sometimes hard to predict which campaigns have texting available and which application we might be using. Sign up if you’re interested in texting in general. When we get closer, Linda will let you know details. Probable options include MJ Heger, Environmental Voter Project (uses Hustle), NextGen America (Thru Text app), MoveOn (Spoke app), or another project.
There is a lot of activity going on behind the scenes to coordinate texting opportunities in Sonoma County. As time goes on, we may be able to lay out a more definitive plan week to week, but we are just getting started. Please bear with us during this time.
