In response to the multiple allegations of sexual assault against Dominic Foppoli, Mayor of the Town of Windsor, the Sonoma County Democratic Party is calling for his immediate resignation.

As a party and as community members we are standing in support of these brave women who have come forward to share their experiences and put forth these allegations. Their reports of sexual assault are to be taken seriously and with all urgency they should be investigated to the fullest extent possible with due process. Our local elected officials are not above the law.

The role of elected officials in our community is to serve in a trusted position of leadership that is in the best interests of all the members of our community. In light of the depth and severity of any one of these allegations, the ability of Dominic Foppoli to carry out his duties as Mayor of the Town of Windsor with the trust of confidence of the community has been shattered.

The Sonoma County Democratic Party calls on Mayor Dominic Foppoli to immediately resign as Mayor of the Town of Windsor and for the City Council of Windsor to take up this issue at their next meeting if this action is not taken.
