We are all cordially invited to meet and support an important Democratic candidate, Tony Thurmond, in his campaign for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, at a Meet and Greet Fundraiser in Sonoma Valley on Friday, Oct. 12th, 6:30-8pm. Our Congressman Mike Thompson has also graciously agreed to attend.
Tony Thurmond is a social worker by training and a public school advocate for life, he is for: prioritizing funding to provide educators with the resources and salaries they deserve, more resources for English language learners, creating inclusive schools that protect LGBTQ students, bringing families intentionally into the conversation about their children’s education, STEM and STEAM programs, accountability for charter schools, addressing the teacher shortage, prioritizing early education, renewing the commitment to special ed, the list goes on and on. And between Dolores Huerta, Senator Kamala Harris, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, The LA Times, California Teachers Association, California Federation of Teachers and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of CA – it is clear that so many others know he is the real deal.
You are also invited to bring your children/grandchildren to meet the candidate who will work to support their teachers and schools. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience to firstname.lastname@example.org. It will be at a beautiful private home in Agua Caliente, you will receive the address when you RSVP.
