The Sonoma County Democratic Party is disappointed with the irresponsible, unilateral decision by the Sonoma County Sheriff not to enforce the county’s stay-at-home public health order in the midst of a pandemic.
His decision demonstrates a blatant disregard for the health of our communities, arrogance in bypassing our duly elected representatives, and disrespect for the expertise and leadership of our public health officer.
We are as eager to reopen as anyone, but not by putting some of our most vulnerable residents at risk. We urge the Sheriff to reverse course immediately.
