The Sonoma County Democratic Party has endorsed Lynda Hopkins for re-election to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in District 5, which includes the City of Sebastopol, Guerneville, Bodega Bay, Occidental, and the western portion of the unincorporated county to the Pacific Ocean on the west, and Mendocino County to the north. Her endorsement was unanimous, recognizing her actions on the Board and her leadership in achieving resilience in the face of the flooding and wildfires that have directly affected her district.
“The Sonoma Dems are proud of Supervisor Hopkins’ leadership on the many complex issues that face Sonoma County. She is increasing transparency and exploring new approaches to solve
long-standing challenges, with a hands-on leadership style that supports our community- led efforts to provide more affordable housing while better addressing homelessness and mental health services, to invest in our roads and infrastructure, to protect our coastline, to preserve our agricultural heritage, and conserve our precious open space. These are issues that are important to all Democrats,” said County Democratic Party Chair Pat Sabo.
Supervisor Hopkins responded: “I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Sonoma Dems, and I look forward to working with my fellow Democrats to address climate change and social justice, and to link arms to bring affordable housing to Sonoma County. It takes all of us working together to create change.”
This year the Sonoma Dems will be working for Supervisor Hopkins’ re-election in a variety of ways. Precinct walking, post cards to neighbors, and phone banking from our Coordinated Campaign Headquarters at 635 Fifth Street in Santa Rosa are planned, and direct mail into her District will take place as well.
